Review Black Mirror
I'm back with #REVIEWDET!!!
Have you ever heard about Black Mirror? It's on Netflix since 2011, but they skipped a year. Up until now, there are three seasons. Oh, and this is an anthology, so the episode doesn't connect with each other and that means you can choose which story you want. You might want to search 'black mirror *insert episode* explained'. I do that most of the time, lol.
Each season has different number of episode. Season 1 has three episodes, season 2 has four including Special White Christmas, and season 3 has six. I'm kinda ashamed to say this, but I watched the whole season 1 and 2 with Indonesian subtitle because I thought this would be like Sherlock, which I wouldn't understand anything if I watched it with English subtitle. Too bad Indonesian subtitle for season 3 is only available for episode 1, 2, 3, and 6.
Season 1 kicks off with a story about the prime minister of England who was forced to do sexual intercourse with a pig (EAKHHH, seriously, this is really disgusting) to get a kidnapped princess back. Definitely a good way to start the show. The second episode talks about dystopian future, everyone has to cycle on a bike to gain money. Fat people get shamed and is considered a low-class citizen. The last episode of the season takes place in an alternative reality where most people have a grain placed behind their ear. It records everything we see and hear and can be rewinded. I like episode three the most, because it implies that with technology, we often overanalyze everything. Yes, sometimes it is good, but it can also make you crazy.
Season 2 started on 2013, skipped a year from season 1. In my opinion, this season has darker stories than season 1. My favorite is White Bear, where a child kidnapper and murderer was punished by doing the same to her, but with her memory wiped. Everyday. All you have is an unclear memory about the things you've done. Can you imagine how you don't remember anything yet people do horrible things to you?
Season 3, I'm not finished yet, still on episode 4. 'Playtest' episode is the scariest so far. AND EPISODE 4, beware, if you don't like LGBT scenes, don't watch this. But, to be honest, this is the one that made me cry. Going to update it when I'm finished!
All the episodes made me say "WOW" a hundred times. Really like the twist.
Rate: 9/10 (Sorry, 10/10 is only for Game of Thrones! ;) )
