Review YOU: Enough To Scare You

Hi fellas! It's been a long time since I posted here. Many things has happened.. but now I want to talk about YOU. This review will contain some spoilers, so to be safe, if you don't want to read spoilers, please close this tab.

Not you, you. YOU as in TV show made by Netflix, based on two books written by Caroline Kepnes, titled YOU and Hidden Bodies. Netflix had made it into two seasons, and probably there will be a third season. So far, I personally think Netflix had successfully adapted it from books to TV show. Of course, it might be because Caroline Kepnes is the Consulting Producer (correct me if I'm wrong).

Guess who the cast is...

Penn Badgley as Joe Goldberg.

I am not surprised, and very happy with this. Penn Badgley is the true embodiment of Joe Goldberg. If you have seen his performance, you'd agree with me.

Ok, as I said on the title, YOU is enough to scare you. Why?
Because, almost all of the things that Joe had done, could've happened to you too.

Let's recap to season 1. Joe met Guinevere Beck and was obsessed with her. He really wanted to "fix" her. Started by killing Beck's ex-boyfriend, then her best friend Peach who likes Beck. But ba-bam... he ended the season by killing her too??? And framed the murder so the prime suspect was her therapist??? Damn Joe you're too smart.

On season 2, Joe moved from New York to Los Angeles and changed his name into Will Bettenheim, which he stole from someone. Then, he met Love Quinn, a woman whose parents own Anavrin (a local supermarket) and Forty, her twin. The story in this season entangles Joe, Love, and Forty. To be honest I hate Forty so much because DUDE!!! Too childish. He managed to kill Henderson, a famous standup comedian and made it look like suicide. Then, his building manager found out about that, and Joe confined her in a cage (yes, the cage from season 1. No, I don't know how he brought a cage like this and people doesn't bat an eye.

This show also comes with its weirdness. I mean, what's with the acid scenes? Those scenes felt like a filler, even though yes it does help with the storyline, but... No. Don't think so. Then, why does it look like Joe's a little bit scared of Love? I thought the psycho here is Joe, not Love?

Anyway, it is still enjoyable to watch, especially the SO GOOD CAST!!! and chilling fact that... this could happen in real life, but of course in TV all people are dumber than they really are.

If you read the book, please don't be surprised when you watch this. It is kinda different, but in a good way.
